2023 a été une année passionnante en ce qui concerne l'alimentation scolaire. Nous invitons tous les sympathisants de l'alimentation scolaire à se joindre à nous le 29 novembre de midi à 13 h (HNE) pour un panel passionnant d'intervenants qui partageront des mises à jour importantes sur les progrès vers un programme d'alimentation scolaire pancanadien, les avancées sur la scène internationale et des mises à jour sur de nouveaux programmes et recherches prometteurs.

Ce webinaire sera suivi de la réunion annuelle de planification des membres de la Coalition entre 13h et 15h (HNE) (même lien).

Le 30 novembre, Brent Mansfield, un enseignant de la Colombie-Britannique, mènera sa campagne «Aller plus loin à Ottawa». Dans le prolongement de son incroyable course de 11 heures autour de son école 200 fois en foctobre, Brent remettra au Premier ministre les lettres que ses élèves ont écrites pour expliquer pourquoi l'alimentation scolaire est importante pour eux et pourquoi l'investissement dans une saine alimentation à l'école est une bonne idée.

Pour soutenir la campagne de Brent, nous demandons aux élèves et aux enseignants de tout le Canada d'écrire des lettres au Premier ministre en l'exhortant à honorer l'engagement des Libéraux de 1 milliard de dollars sur cinq ans pour un programme d'alimentation scolaire pancanadien avec un minimum de 200 millions de dollars dans le budget 2024.

À travers toute la province, les Néo-Brunswickois·es parlent de l'alimentation scolaire. Le nombre d'élèves accédant à une gamme variée de soutiens et d'offres en matière d'alimentation scolaire continue d'augmenter. Parallèlement, les ressources pour soutenir ces programmes diminuent, ou ne sont tout simplement plus adéquates face aux besoins croissants. 

Des actions sont en cours à tous les niveaux, mais il existe un manque de coordination des efforts et de partage d'informations. Aliments pour tous vous invite à participer à une conférence Zoom au Nouveau-Brunswick dans le but d'animer ces partages d'informations. 

Au cours de cet appel, nous entendrons:

- d'Éloi Doucet, consultant auprès du ministère de l'Éducation qui soutient le déboursement du financement de l'alimentation scolaire,

- et de Stéphane Sirois, directeur de Food Depot Alimentaire (FDA)

Après de brèves présentations/partages de la part d'Éloi et de Stéphane, nous réserverons un espace pour une conversation émergente informelles afin d'aider à coordonner les efforts.

We invite all school food supporters to join us from noon to 1pm EST for an exciting panel of guest speakers who will be sharing important updates about progress towards a national school food program, advancements in international school food, and updates about exciting new school food programs and research.

On November 30th, BC teacher Brent Mansfield will be taking his “Going the Distance" campaign to Ottawa. Following up on his amazing 11 hour run around his school 200 times in October, Brent will be delivering letters that his students wrote to the Prime Minister explaining why school food matters to them and why investment in healthy school food is a good idea. 

To support Brent’s campaign, we are asking students and teachers across Canada to write letters to the Prime Minister, urging him to honour the Liberals $1 billion over five years commitment for a national school food program with a minimum of $200 million in Budget 2024.

All across the province, New Brunswickers are talking about school food. The number of students accessing a diverse range of school food supports and offerings continues to rise. And yet, resources to support these programs are, in many cases, either decreasing or simply no longer adequate for the growing need.

There is action happening at every level, but a gap in coordination of efforts and information sharing. Food For All invites you to join a NB zoom conference with the goal of information exchange and coordination of efforts. 

During this call we’ll hear from:

- Éloi Doucet, consultant with the Department of Education supporting the disbursement of school food funding,

- and Stéphane Sirois, Executive Director of Food Depot Alimentaire (FDA)

After brief presentations/sharing from Éloi and Stéphane we'll hold space for emergent conversations to help coordinate efforts.
