Partnerships Towards Food Self-Sufficiency

Growing change in Northern Manitoba

Thursday, May 29th

This webinar provided an overview of the Northern Healthy Foods Initiative (NHFI), a collaborative effort between five provincial departments and the Northern Manitoba food security community, which includes Food Matters Manitoba. It covered issues facing northern communities as it relates to access to healthy foods, provided the logic underpinning the NHFI – including the program structure and delivery model, and highlighted project successes as presented by Food Matters Manitoba.

Presenters

Chloe Donatelli, Acting Northern Liaison, Food Matters Manitoba
Chloe lives in Winnipeg and has worked since the Fall of 2012 on the northern team at Food Matters Manitoba, one of the five partners under the Province of Manitoba's Northern Healthy Foods Initiative. Through this work, she has had the opportunity to support thirteen different communities spread across Manitoba's north with their local food initiatives. Her favourite part of her job is the great deal of her time she gets to spend visiting communities throughout the year, and helping to support the important work they are doing towards food self-sufficiency in Manitoba's north.
