Temporary migrant workers in Canada were informed last week that the Employment Insurance fund they contribute to will likely never benefit them. Indeed, as of Dec. 10th 2012 and contrary to previous regulations, temporary migrant workers are no longer eligible for EI parental and other benefits unless they work in Canada year round. Read UFCW’s reaction to this new regulation.
