Food Secure Canada on Parliament Hill and in the Media

Food Secure Canada held a press conference on Parliament Hill May 16th directly following Oliver de Schutter's press conference.  We work to ensure that the voices of the grassroots are heard loud and clear calling for a National Food Policy - a People's Food Policy.  Diana Bronson, FSC's executive director, was  joined by Mary Simon (Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami), Bill Jeffery (Centre for Science in the Public Interest), and Paul Slomp (National Farmers Union), who each shed light on a different part of the food system.

FSC also recently made a presentation to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and the Standing Committee on International Trade. These presentations drew on the People's Food Policy and the work of our members across the country. Read the statement to the agriculture committee here. Food Secure Canada staff also recently appeared before the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry to discuss how the People's Food Policy can advance innovation in agriculture.
