Webinar: Say Yes! To A Garden In Every School
Hosted by : Sustain Ontario
WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 18 FROM 3H00 PM
Are you thinking of digging in a new garden in the spring, or looking for ideas on how to expand your impact? Are you dealing with some challenges with garden design, summer care and connections to school curriculum?
Be sure to join the Ontario Edible Education Network for this exciting discussion on School Food Gardens. Sunday Harrison, Executive Director of Green Thumbs Growing Kids, has over a decade of experience helping gardens flourish in schoolyards throughout Toronto. Sunday has seen the benefits of school gardening in action and she's also got the research to back it up! We'll be profiling some great school garden designs, and speaking with school garden leaders in field. Panelists include Katie German with FoodShare's SchoolGrown program; Natalie Boustead with PACT's Grow to Learn program; and Shamima Basrai, a teacher at Castlebridge PS.
Come grow the conversation as we dig in to questions such as:
- Is it important to link the school garden to the curriculum?
- What strategies do you use to address the summer gap?
- What is the role of community partners in the success of school garden projects?
Advance registration is required. Register by February 17th at 5p.m. EST.
