Eat Think Vote 2019 is launched!
Eat Think Vote 2019 is a campaign by Food Secure Canada, a non partisan, pan-Canadian alliance of organizations and individuals working together to advance food security and food sovereignty. Our mission with Eat Think Vote is to bring together community members across Canada to speak with their federal candidates about food insecurity and other food issues that matter to them.

The first edition of the campaign took place in 2015 ahead of the federal election, where thousands of Canadians took part by gathering over a meal to discuss food issues affecting their communities. At the time, the campaign called for a bold new national food policy that delivered on the following asks: zero hunger, a national healthy school food program, affordable food in the North, and support for new farmers.
The first edition of the campaign was a tremendous success that led to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau mandating the Minister of Agriculture to develop a national food policy for the first time in Canadian history. Fast forward to June 2019, and we are happy to share that the new National Food Policy has just been released! The conversations that took place in communities across Canada had a direct impact on policy at the federal level.
There are many ways to get involved with this year’s edition of Eat Think Vote. You can host an event in your community, support by becoming a funding partner, and spread the word throughout your networks. Check out our website to see how you can be part of the conversation and stay tuned on the Eat Think Vote website for updates on events taking place across the country.
