Candidates need to talk more about the food crisis

According to a 2012 study by the Canadian Institute of Health Research, roughly 4 million Canadians are considered to be “food insecure” — 1.5 million of them are children. Food insecure describes someone who buys less or cheaper food, skips out on meals and is unable to access clean, healthy foods. There are plenty of these foods grown in Canada; the trouble is they often come with a higher price tag.
