Welcome to our new Web Platform
By Amanda Sheedy, Program Manager, FSC
We’re so excited to present you, our community, with this new tool. It’s a sharing platform that we’ve been talking about with you for years.
It will allow us all to better organize, think and act together for the food systems we want across Canada. I hope that you will take some time to get to know this new space and learn to use it as a tool for your work locally, nationally, even internationally.
This platform is a website with 2.0 capacity – in other words, its strength is that it allows for decentralized, interactive communication and ‘content creation’ (like Facebook, but very different).
Before anything you need to login – this will allow you to comment on articles, discussion groups and more. You actually see different options on the pages when you are logged in. Try it!
What I love about the new site:
- We have a place to build a shared library! You can share and search for news, blogs, reports and more.
- It’s a place to continue or start a conversation and connect with people across Canada who care about the same things you do.
- Our networks have a space to work where we can have a common google drive file, set up meetings, webinars and more.
- Soon, members will be able to initiate their own networks with workspaces, private or public (using the same model as our networks).
Please – take some time to peruse and participate!
Of course this is the first draft – there are bound to be some rough edges and plenty of room for improvement over the years to come. Help us to improve this collective tool by commenting on our first discussion platform:
What do you think about the new Food Secure Canada platform!
The future is exciting for the food movement. Let’s build it together.
