Working Towards Learning, Unlearning and Justice in the Food System

This has been a very troubling time with the news of nearly 1000 unmarked children's graves around former residential schools in Kamloops and Cowesses First Nation. As was reported many years ago by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, many more will be found. With this news, we resurfaced published work from 2015 on food as a weapon in residential schools. Hopefully, food can also be a means of reconciliation and healing. May our collective work in the food movement be a source of learning, unlearning, justice and respectful collaboration going forward with respect to all those who are oppressed and marginalized in our society and our food system.
