This very practical document was published in October 2013 and helps the reader to understand how to determine the level contamination risk for any potential or current garden and how to adapt one's gardening to the state of the soil. Very user-friendly document that will be helpful in communities across Canada!

Community Food Intensive and the S.E.L.R.S. lens

Community Food Intensive workshop - This newly created workshop is part of the S.E.L.R.S. project, which aims to build relationships and systematically map the food-related assets in the central Alberta region- supporting the development of Sustainable and Equitable solutions; building Local, Regenerative food Systems where all Albertans are healthy and food secure. The workshop works from the S.E.L.R.S. lens.

GFSA Network - Community Building for Food Security workbook

This Community Building for Food Security workshop and this accompanying workbook (CBFS) was developed using Nova Scotia's "Thought About Food" Resource enhanced with an Asset Based Community Develpment approach.  It has been used effectively by Alberta rural, urban, and Fist Nations communties in Alberta for over 8 years.   Evaluations have been conducted and can be found on the www.foodsecurityalberta.org web site.

There is also a faciltator guide to accompany the CBFS workbook.  It is also in this resources list .
