FoodShare’s School Grown farming project seeks funds to purchase van, bike to transport produce

FoodShare’s ‘School Grown’ program is seeking the community’s help to purchase a cargo van so students can get their produce to farmers’ markets and restaurants.

The Dufferin and Bloor West streets-based non-profit agency, whose mission is to improve access to affordable and healthy food from field to table, lost its van to an accident over the winter. Fortunately no one was hurt, said Katie German, School Grown’s senior co-ordinator. But the van was not recoverable.
