ASHLEY WILLS: Principal Shalene Herron is concerned that some of her students will go hungry over the summer months.
In her two years at Confederation Park Community School in Saskatoon, she has seen a huge increase in demand for the emergency nutrition program.
"Despite sort of the boom talk of Saskatchewan, poverty is also growing," she said in an interview with News Talk Radio.
Herron said they used to notice that more students needed food near the end of the month. "This year, when we look at our statistics, we're feeding kids the whole month through."
